National Human Rural Development Institute (NHRDI) which literally means "Village Development" is an organization that has been working since 1997, to bring about sustainable improvement in the quality of life of poor and marginalised rural communities. In order to serve the rural poor for their sustainable development, a group of young Persons came forward through incredible assiduity & perseverance of Sri Bhagirathi Pradhan, the celebrated social activist in the area under whose refined demeanour & wherewithal, the youth of the locality were mobilized under the banner of a Social entity called National Human Rural Development Institute.
Registered under societies registration Act 1860 in the year of 2000 as a non-profit making, non-political and secular voluntary body, NHRDI has been pursuing the principle of delegating the power to the poor people of weaker and under-privileged sections of the society by empowering them through the weapons of information on thematic issues like micro-finance, health, education, livelihood, environment etc. Thus, the wide encompassing social and economical interventions have helped to win many friends, philosophers and guides during the course of intervention. During the incessant period of service, NHRDI has made a triumph in micro finance sector through formation and strengthening of relevant social net work involving homogenous poor men and women in its outreach area.
NHRDI believes in synergistic efforts of various stakeholders operating from uneven platforms but with a common goal of providing solace to the souls who are cornered in the process of development. Efforts are aimed at inducing confidence and building capacities among the community members, to enable them to face the vicissitudes of life with greater ease. Notwithstanding various constraints and pitfalls, NHRDI now moves ahead to achieve its mission.

The basic premises, is to encourage thrift and credit system among the SHGs/JLGs members who are most neglected due to traditional discrimination and caste prejudice. All its activities are replicable for others to follow.
